Ask Us 24/7 Library Chat Service Celebrates 10th Anniversary
For 10 years, Ask Us 24/7 has been New York State’s “virtual reference desk,” allowing users to instantly chat with a librarian for research help any time of day, from any location.
In honor of the 10th anniversary year, Ask Us 24/7 will be holding commemorative activities including a series of Facebook posts on the service’s history and a contest for users, culminating in a “birthday” celebration at the New York Library Association conference in Niagara Falls in September. You can follow the activities by “liking” Ask Us 24/7 at www.facebook.com/askus247

Registration Now Open for Reference Renaissance 2010
April 19, 2010 - Reference Renaissance 2010: Inventing the Future is now open for registration. The conference will be held August 9-10 in Denver, Colorado and is presented by BCR and LYRASIS. Reference Renaissance 2010: Inventing the Future will explore all aspects of reference service and will bring together reference practitioners and scholars to explore the evolving nature of reference.
Sign up for a Lightning Round or two when you register for the 2nd Reference Renaissance conference
Quick! You have 5 minutes to tell your colleagues about a great reference program, resource, service, or idea (maybe even about what you think will be the future of reference).
We’re looking for ideas that inspire and engage our students and patrons and make their lives easier and better. Maybe you'll tell us about a new technology that will change the way we do business. Or one that just makes it easier for users to reach professional help at the library.
