Brill, the international scholarly publisher, announces a new suite of open access journals covering four major disciplines.
In the Brill Open program, Brill is now announcing the launch of four new full Open Access journals in the following disciplines: Humanities, Social Sciences, Law, and Biology. These journals will offer a pure open access environment. Each journal will be divided in sections that align with the major subject areas in the discipline.
IFLA and Brill are pleased to announce that Knowledge Unlatched (www.knowledgeunlatched.org), from the United Kingdom, has been selected as this year’s winner of the IFLA/Brill Open Access Award.
The IFLA/Brill Open Access Award was created in 2013 for initiatives in the area of open access monograph publishing. This year the jury unanimously has chosen Knowledge Unlatched (United Kingdom) as the most outstanding and game-changing initiative in the field.

The association promotes and supports scholarly publishers that offer reputable open access publications and reliable open access publishing services. Brill open access publications are made available through Brill Open on the Brill Online Books and Journals platform in all areas Brill publishes in: Humanities, Social Sciences, International and Human Rights Law and Biology.

Danvers, Mass. – Copyright Clearance Center, Inc. (CCC), a not-for-profit organization creating global licensing and content solutions that make copyright work for everyone, has launched an Open Access Resource Center in partnership with the Association of Learned and Professional Society Publishers (ALPSP).
EBSCO has joined the Open Access Scholarly Publishers Association. EBSCO is a natural intermediary between libraries and publishers because it works with both groups. Joining OASPA will allow EBSCO to work even more closely with the OASPA community.

Brill extends Brill Open, its Open Access model, to include books.
As a major publisher in the Humanities, Social Sciences, Biology and International Law, Brill is committed to enhancing access to academic content in any sustainable way. Since its academic book publications are a cornerstone of the program, it is extending Brill Open to include monographs and edited volumes.
Copyright Clearance Center, Inc. (CCC), a not-for-profit organization and leading provider of licensing and Open Access (OA) solutions, has joined the Open Access Scholarly Publishers Association (OASPA), which offers a forum for bringing together the entire Open Access community.
