San Diego, CA

For Immediate Release.

More and more Youth Service Librarians are being asked to fill the role of art teacher and activities director. Budget cuts, innovative library programs, and the need to keep the library a place for children and teens to thrive requires an understanding of programs that incorporate visual literacy and hands on art projects.

There is a resource that will help you. Art Teacher on the Net an online art resource website since 1998 is sponsoring 2 workshops for Librarians.

Valerie Colston author of Teens Go Green! Tips, Techniques, Tools and Themes for YA Programming, Libraries Unlimited Professional guides for Young Adult Librarians Series 2011 is the creator and presenter of the workshops. The Arts and Crafts for Youth Librarians and It's Easy to Be Green for Librarians have received many positive comments from those who have attended. The cost is very reasonable at $59.00 for a 4 week-15 hour workshop-all online.

Librarians have an opportunity to network with the art expert and other librarians. Past workshops have received very positive feedback, and librarians have attended from across the country and internationally.
