FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Duluth, GA —December 20, 2013
Equinox is proud to announce that Cumberland Public Library has gone live on Evergreen as part of the NC Cardinal Consortium. Equinox oversaw data migration and staff training and will continue to provide ongoing technical support and system administration to the entire NC Cardinal consortium. Cumberland County’s new online catalog can be viewed at http://cumberland.nccardinal.org.
For over 75 years, the Cumberland County Public Library has provided local residents access to library materials and information services. The system has grown to nine branches located across the Fayetteville area. 166,000 patrons and over 233,000 bibliographic items were added to the combined catalog.
Erica Rohlfs, Equinox Education Specialist, says, “Cumberland County Public Library comprises a highly skilled and inquisitive staff. Throughout the entire training and migration process, they were very proactive in testing their data and learning their new ILS. It’s always a pleasure working with librarians who display high levels of passion for their jobs, database records, and patrons.”

Evergreen is an award-winning ILS developed with the intent of providing an open source product able to meet the diverse needs of consortia and high transaction public libraries. However, it has proven to be equally successful in smaller installations including special and academic libraries. Today, almost 1200 libraries across the US and Canada are using Evergreen including NC Cardinal, SC Lends, and B.C. Sitka.
