The George H. and Ella M. Rodgers Memorial Library Selects Evergreen
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Duluth, GA —April 16, 2013
The George H. and Ella M. Rodgers Memorial Library in Hudson has selected the Evergreen Open Source Library System to update and replace their current proprietary system. They are the second New Hampshire library system to migrate to the Evergreen platform. Equinox Software has been contracted to provided data migration and staff training services and will provide 24/7 technical support to the library’s Evergreen implementation.
The library will launch the new catalog in May. Patrons can be assured that their holds will remain in the system and all library card information, PINs and system logins will stay the same. The biggest change will be the new look of the catalog as well as some additional features that will be available in the coming months.
According to Charlie Matthews, Rodgers Memorial Library Director, "The library will be closed on Tuesday, April 30 for staff training in order to prepare for this transition. We will keep our borrowers informed throughout this transition, and I encourage anyone with questions or comments to contact me via phone or email."
About George H and Ella M. Rodgers Memorial
The George H. and Ella M. Rodgers Memorial Library serves the town of Hudson, a community of 25,000 located in southern New Hampshire. Funds for the now 4 year-old library were donated by Phil and Al Rodgers, in memory of their parents.
Evergreen is a robust, open-source integrated library system best known for its unique ability to meet the needs of very large, high-transaction, multi-site consortia. However, it has also proven equally successful scaled down for even the smallest libraries. Evergreen now supports almost 1,200 libraries of every type-public, academic, special, and school media centers across 4 countries, 31 U.S. states, and 8 Canadian provinces. King County Public Library System, SCLENDS, and the NC Cardinal consortiums are all currently running Evergreen.
