Utica College Selects eBooks on EBSCOhost®

~EBSCO Publishing’s Familiar Platform and Patron Drive Acquisition Program Lead Utica College to Choose eBooks on EBSCOhost®~

IPSWICH, Mass. — November 8, 2012 — Utica College has chosen eBooks on EBSCOhost® from EBSCO Publishing (EBSCO) to grow its e-book collection. The college was looking to expand its electronic collection and although they looked at other e-book vendors, the site’s familiarity and positive experience with EBSCOhost databases as well the benefits of EBSCO’s Patron Driven Acquisition (PDA) Program convinced Utica College that eBooks on EBSCOhost was the right fit.

IPSWICH, Mass. — November 6, 2012 — EBSCO Publishing’s (EBSCO) recent agreement with content partner, Accessible Archives, Inc. will enable additional primary source content to be discoverable within EBSCO Discovery Service™ (EDS). Metadata from Accessible Archives’ American County Histories to 1900 III: Southeast and The Lily will be added to the EDS Base Index, the most comprehensive and robust collection of metadata from the best content sources. The addition of this content will serve as a valuable resource for EDS users with an interest in American history and culture.

EBSCO offers seven scholarships to librarians for 2013 ALA Annual Conference

Birmingham, Ala. — Wednesday, October 31, 2012 The — American Library Association (ALA) and EBSCO are partnering to offer seven scholarships for librarians to attend the 2013 ALA Annual Conference in Chicago. The meeting — which will take place June 27 – July 2, 2013 — offers an opportunity for continuing education, meetings, and interaction with colleagues.

Each EBSCO scholarship will be in the amount of $1,000. The scholarship money is to be used for conference registration, travel, and expenses.
