Sisters In Crime Announces First Ever "We Love Libraries" Monthly Lottery

Sisters in Crime is pleased to announce the first "We Love Libraries" lottery. Monthly grants of $1,000 will be awarded from January through December 2010. At the end of each month, a winner will be drawn from entries received at our website. Only U.S. libraries may enter the drawing. To enter, simply complete the entry form and upload a photo of one or more of your staff with three books in your collection by Sisters in Crime members.

"Time Machines Repaired While-U-Wait", by K. A. Bedford, Receives Nomination for Australia’s Aurealis Award

(Calgary, Canada) Hades Publications announced today that the K. A. Bedford’s newest science fiction novel Time Machines Repaired While-U-Wait has just been nominated for Australia’s prestigious Aurealis Award.

K. A. Bedford celebrated his newest science fiction novel earlier this fall with a bang and a tour. He made appearances at the World Science Fiction Convention in Denver Colorado and was the Guest of Honor at ConVersion in Calgary Alberta. Time Machines Repaired While-U-Wait is unlike his other three releases: Orbital Burn, Eclipse, and Hydrogen Steel.

West Texas Book and Music Festival, September 23-27, 2008

Save the dates for the eighth annual West Texas Book and Music Festival, September 23-27, 2008 at the Abilene Civic Center in Abilene, Texas. Dr. Don B. Graham, a distinguished writer and teacher specializing in Texas and Southwest literature, will be the 2008 recipient of the A. C. Greene Award to be presented at the West Texas Book & Music Festival on Sept. 27.
Graham is the J. Frank Dobie Regents Professor at the University of Texas at Austin and is a writer-at-large for Texas Monthly magazine.
