Backstage completes large-scale retrospective conversion project to benefit England’s new state-of-the-art Library of Birmingham
PROVO, Utah, October 4, 2013 – Backstage Library Works has completed a large-scale retrospective conversion project as part of the development of the new Library of Birmingham which opened on 3 September 2013, replacing the former Central Library. The Library of Birmingham is a new state-of-the-art community hub that houses unique and rare items and includes a new home for the Shakespeare Memorial Room. The new Library is the largest public library in Europe and is a flagship project in the Birmingham City Council’s redevelopment plans.
State Library of Massachusetts partners with Backstage Library Works for retrospective conversion, reclassification and digitization
PROVO, Utah, July 15, 2013 — The State Library of Massachusetts has partnered with Backstage Library Works in retrospective conversion, reclassification, and digitization of portions of its legislative and historical collections. The agreement is helping the library to complete a major initiative in data upgrades and physical renovations to create a wide-reaching digital collection on Beacon Hill in Boston, Massachusetts.
Memorial University of Newfoundland’s newspaper digitization project to reach 100,000-image milestone with Backstage
BETHLEHEM, Pa., April 5, 2013 — The Centre for Newfoundland Studies at Memorial University of Newfoundland's Queen Elizabeth II Library has entered into a new phase of a long-term newspaper digitization project with Backstage Library Works. This phase will increase the digital collection's size to more than 100,000 images, adding some 28,000 pages to the 93,000 already digitized since the project began in 2010.
