Learning Round Table Announces New Logo
CHICAGO, Feb. 25, 2010 – The Learning Round Table of the American Library Association unveiled a new logo on the Web site http://alalearning.org.
The new logo contains a vibrant palette of colors including purple, blue, orange and green. The abstract design has many different meanings and the public is encouraged to comment on the ALA Learning site and describe what the design represents to them.
BCR and LITA Partner to Offer Continuing Education Opportunities
AURORA, COLO. — BCR and the Library and Information Technology Association (LITA), a division of the American Library Association (ALA), have agreed to develop a reciprocal continuing education program to complement and expand the training opportunities for the members of both organizations.
The partnership will combine those areas in which each organization is expert to meet the growing need for libraries to offer new and innovative online continuing education courses while meeting the challenges of the rapidly changing library environment and shrinking budgets.

BCR and New Mexico State Library Partner to Offer Digitization Workshops
As part of BCR’s efforts to bring digitization training to everyone, the New Mexico State Library and BCR are hosting a series of three workshops, March 24-26, to be held at the state library offices in Santa Fe. Targeted to libraries and cultural heritage institutions, these workshops are designed to guide participants through the planning stages of a new digitization project, including instruction in digital imaging best practices and the creation of Dublin Core metadata.
