BCR and New Mexico State Library Partner to Offer Digitization Workshops
As part of BCR’s efforts to bring digitization training to everyone, the New Mexico State Library and BCR are hosting a series of three workshops, March 24-26, to be held at the state library offices in Santa Fe. Targeted to libraries and cultural heritage institutions, these workshops are designed to guide participants through the planning stages of a new digitization project, including instruction in digital imaging best practices and the creation of Dublin Core metadata.
Landman Library Catalog Goes Live
Landman Library Catalog (http://search.arcadia.edu) was developed in-house by Arcadia University
using Pazpar2, an open-source middleware technology created by
LibLime's partner, Index Data. Access to subscription content is
provided by OpenTranslators, a new web service offered by LibLime that
offers a simple gateway interface to over 9,000 subscription
databases.

North Texas Regional Library System Selects Evergreen and Equinox

The North Texas Regional Library System (NTRLS) has selected Evergreen, the open source, consortial-quality library software, as their next-generation library automation system. The system has also signed a contract with Equinox Software Inc. for comprehensive library data migration services, software configuration, consultation, and ongoing Evergreen technical support.
Integrated Technology Group Gained 19 New Clients, Acquired A New Patent and Hired An Account Manager in 4th Quarter
Norcross, Ga. – The Integrated Technology Group (ITG), a division of Vernon Library Supplies, Inc., gained 19 new clients, acquired a patent by the U.S. Patent Office and added a new account manager in the fourth quarter of 2008. In addition, the ITG Scan & Print System was used by Equinox Software, Inc. to assist Indiana libraries in the migration to Evergreen, an enterprise-class, open source, integrated library system (ILS). The ITG Scan & Print System can re-label bar codes on items at a rate of more than 250 books per hour.
