Six More Libraries Go Live on Evergreen Indiana

Thirty-seven libraries are now live on Evergreen Indiana, a shared-catalog project of the Indiana State Library powered by Evergreen, the highly-scalable open-source library automation software. The six additions include Shoals Public Library—the first previously non-automated library to join Evergreen Indiana—as well as Andrews Dallas Township, Loogootee, Middletown Fall Creek, Milford, and Washington Public Township Public Libraries.

Salina Public Library Migrates to Koha with LibLime
COLUMBUS OH - August 5, 2009 – LibLime, the leader in open-source solutions for libraries and Salina Public Library announced today that the library has selected a Koha ZOOM hosted solution for their next integrated library system.
The Koha installation will be hosted off site at one of LibLime's secure data centers. The Library has also contracted with LibLime for data migration of their more than 300,000 items, support and training services.

BCR Partners with North Dakota, Hawaii to Administer Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation Opportunity Online Hardware Grants
Aurora, CO, July 27, 2009 — BCR is partnering with the North Dakota State Library and the Hawaii State Public Library System to administer the third and final round of the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation Opportunity Online Hardware Grants program. The grant program will help eligible public libraries in these states upgrade and add public computer workstations for patrons in communities with high concentrations of poverty and where a library’s public computers are at risk of becoming outdated with limited capacity for users.

California Library Launches SOPAC Website Integration
Palos Verdes Library District (http://www.pvld.org/) working with the development team at YourLibrarySite.com (a website development initiative offered by CraftySpace CMS) announces the launch of SOPAC (social online catalog) integrated into a new Drupal version 6 website. This launch is one of the first public library adoptions of SOPAC outside of Darien Library in CT, where John Blyberg first developed this open source technology.
