Pasco County Library System implements LS2 PAC from TLC

DENVER (May 20, 2009) – The Pasco County Library System, which is no stranger to distinction, has added another feather to its illustrious cap. The award-winning network of eight libraries in west central Florida has partnered with The Library Corporation to beta test TLC’s LS2 PAC module for its CARL•X™ Integrated Library System (ILS).

Amigos Members Approve New Membership Structure and Fees Schedule

Dallas, TX – Members of Amigos Library Services resoundingly approved adoption of a new membership structure and fees schedule at the May 7, 2009, Amigos Member Business Meeting in Dallas. The new membership structure provides for a single membership category: Member of Amigos. The new fees schedule consists of 12 tiers each for academic and public libraries. Fees are determined by library type, size, and annual budget. The new member structure and fees schedules are effective July 1, 2009, the beginning of the new Amigos fiscal year.

BCR Awarded NEH Grant to Support Digital Preservation Workshops for Digital Collaboratives

The National Endowment for the Humanities (NEH) awarded $218,154 to BCR to support workshops on digital preservation developed specifically for leaders of collaborative digitization programs. Knowledge and expertise of digital preservation and the ability to develop and execute digital preservation programs is critical to ensure the long-term viability of the digital materials now being created by libraries and cultural heritage organizations.

Norcross, Ga. – Milton Public Library has boosted efficiency and increased productivity with a 7-bin Vista™ FullSort automated materials handing (AMH) sorting system from the Integrated Technology Group (ITG), a division of Vernon Library Supplies, Inc. The Vista Sorting and the Apex VistaReturns™ Software represent an automated conveyor system designed to accept returned items, reactivate item security, separate materials that are on reserve, and assign other items to their appropriate locations.
