10 millionth record added to WorldCat through WorldCat Digital Collection Gateway

DUBLIN, Ohio, June 7, 2011—A record for a book accessible online, titled Task-oriented and Purposeful Robot-Assisted Therapy, marked the 10 millionth record added to WorldCat via the WorldCat Digital Collection Gateway. The record was harvested into WorldCat by staff at InTech, an open access publisher located in Rijeka, Croatia.

32 libraries lead the way to Web-scale innovation--OCLC Web-scale Management Services on target for July 1 general release

DUBLIN, Ohio, June 2, 2011—Since OCLC announced it was making its cloud-based library management services available to early adopters just 10 months ago, 32 libraries have committed to using OCLC Web-scale Management Services, the Web-based cooperative library management tools for metadata management, acquisitions, circulation, license management and workflow improvement. The early-adopter phase has now ended, and July 1 will mark general release of these innovative cloud-based services.

WorldCat Local adds access to more databases, collections and publishers

DUBLIN, Ohio, May 31, 2011—WorldCat Local, the OCLC discovery service that offers users integrated access to more than 800 million items in libraries around the world, has added more databases and collections from leading publishers and other information providers to make content more accessible to library users through the Web.

Terry Kay and 80 Georgia Authors Honored

47th Annual Georgia Author of the Year Awards at the Kennesaw State University Center, with Terry Kay and Jessica Handler. Terry Kay will win the Lifetime Achievement Award and 80 other Georgia Authors are nominated for the Georgia Author of the Year Awards. 12 category winners will be announced as well as finalists in each category.
