Those who work in k-12 libraries
An established print and online journal, The Bottom Line's major focus is on library finances, library development activities, dealing with library budgets and personnel, and changes in libraries due to economic challenges. The journal is especially interested in articles on the topics below from archives, museums, and other information organizations as well.
"Mommy! I Have to Go Potty! A Parent's Guide to Toilet Training," 978-0-9650477-2-2, has been revised by pediatric advice nurse Helen F. Neville to include children with special needs, early training, the affect of a child's temperament on the pace of training and how to work with a child-care provider during toilet training.
First published in 1996, this is one of Parenting Press's most popular books because of its practical approach and real-life anecdotes. 176 pages, $14.95, paperback, ISBN 978-0-9650477-1-5.
How can kids understand—and cope—when their parents fight? Based on a true story, "Something Is Wrong at My House: A Book about Parents' Fighting" is a 32-page book that shows a child seeking, and finally obtaining, help in a domestic violence situation.
Written by Diane Davis so that it can be used with both the very young, and the school-age child, "Something Is Wrong at My House" provides brief text with illustrations on one page of each two-page spread, and more detailed information on the facing page.
How can parents shield a child from sexual exploitation? How can they and other adults recognize when a child is being sexually abused? "Out of Harm's Way: A Parent's Guide to Protecting Young Children from Sexual Abuse" provides this badly needed information without scare tactics.
How does a child cope when a parent disappears? "Where Is My Mommy? Coping When a Parent Leaves (And Doesn't Come Back)" is ideal for sharing with a child who can't understand why Mom or Dad is gone, and when—if ever—the parent might return.
August 16, 2010 -- San Mateo, CA -- WORDNIK.COM, the online dictionary and language resource, today launched a new, smarter online thesaurus that shows related words in context to help writers find the right word quickly and accurately.
Traditional online thesauruses show related words, but ignore context. They don't tell you that people like brownies that are moist but not brownies that are damp, or that it doesn't make sense to moisten your enthusiasm.
