Code4Lib Journal, call for proposals December issue

The Code4Lib Journal (C4LJ) exists to foster community and share information among those interested in the intersection of libraries, technology, and the future.

The Code4Lib Journal is now accepting proposals for publication in its 5th issue. Don't miss out on this opportunity to share your ideas and experiences in an issue that marks the first full year of publication for this new journal. To be included in the 5th issue, scheduled for publication in December 2008, please submit articles, abstracts, or proposals to c4lj-articles@googlegroups.com by Friday, September 12. Sanbornton Public Library Chooses Koha and LibLime

ATHENS, OH and SANBORNTON, NH--August 19, 2008-- LibLime, the leader in open-source solutions for libraries, and the Sanbornton Public Library in New Hampshire, announced today that the Library has selected a hosted Koha solution for their next integrated library system.

The Library's database of 18,000 items will be hosted off-site at one of LibLime's secure data centers. The library has also contracted with LibLime for data migration, support and customization services on their Koha system.

The Blue Mountains Public Library Chooses Koha ZOOM

ATHENS, OH--August 13, 2008-- LibLime, the leader in open-source solutions for libraries, and the Blue Mountains Public Library in Ontario, announced today that the Library has selected a Koha ZOOM hosted solution for their next integrated library system.

The Blue Mountains Public Library collection will be hosted off site at one of LibLime's secure data centers. The Library has also contracted with LibLime for data migration of their 38,000 bibliographic records, support, and training on their Koha system.

Call for Nominations Robert Colby Scholarly Book Prize

The Research Society for Victorian Periodicals is very pleased to award the annual Robert Colby Scholarly Book Prize for a scholarly book that most advances the understanding of the nineteenth-century British newspaper and/or periodical press. All books exploring periodicals of the period are eligible (including single-author monographs, edited collections, and editions) as long as they have a publication date of 2008. The winner will receive a plaque and a monetary award of up to $3,000, and will be invited to speak at the RSVP conference at the University of St.
