National survey of public library funding and technology access

A national survey of public library funding and technology access was mailed to public libraries early September 2008. The survey, part of a broader study of public library funding and technology access issues, is funded by the American Library Association and the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, and conducted by researchers from Florida State University's Information Use Management and Policy Institute and the University of Maryland’s Center for Library Innovation, and builds on research conducted since 1994.

Bell/Whittington Library Selects Koha

ATHENS, OH --September 2, 2008-- LibLime, the leader in open-source solutions for libraries announced today that the Bell/Whittington Library in Portland, Texas has selected a hosted Koha ZOOM solution for their next integrated library system.

The Library's database of over 32,000 items will be hosted off-site at one of LibLime's secure data centers. The Library has also contracted with LibLime for data migration, support and training on their Koha system.
