IPSWICH, Mass. — June 19, 2018 —EBSCO Information Services (EBSCO) and Modern Language Association (MLA) are working together to create the MLA International Bibliography with Full Text, a definitive research database for the international study of language and literature. Produced by MLA, the MLA International Bibliography with Full Text dates back to the 1920s and contains millions of citations as well as full text for more than 1,000 journals.

MLA International Bibliography with Full Text covers a broad range of humanities disciplines related to global languages and literature. Content includes materials published in the areas of literatures and languages from around the world, including:

• Literature
• Linguistics and language
• College-level teaching of literature, language, and rhetoric and composition
• Dramatic arts (film, television, video, theater, radio, and opera)
• Folklore
• History of printing and publishing
• Literary theory and criticism

Full text in the MLA International Bibliography with Full Text includes coverage for journals published in more than 50 countries well as many of the most-used journals in the MLA International Bibliography. Indexing is conducted by the MLA’s staff of highly trained subject matter experts and by contributing scholars.

MLA Executive Director Paula Krebs says the MLA International Bibliography with Full Text is an essential tool for research in all aspects of global languages and literature. “Allowing scholars to access the articles they’ve found in the bibliography with just one click is a game changer. We’re thrilled that full text of many of the most respected journals in our fields will now be available to bibliography users.”

EBSCO Information Services’ Senior Vice President of Product Management Michael Laddin says the full text version of MLA International Bibliography provides a definitive resource for humanities researchers. “By combining the most comprehensive bibliography of its kind, with the full text from the most-used scholarly journals in an easy to use interface, students and researchers in the humanities gain a very powerful and unique resource covering all aspects of modern languages and literature.”

The MLA Directory of Periodicals can be fully accessed in the MLA International Bibliography with Full Text. The directory provides detailed information on more than 6,000 journals and book series that fall within the scope of the bibliography. Additionally, users will be able to access the MLA Thesaurus, the association's controlled vocabulary used to assign descriptors to each record in the bibliography. It also provides a searchable directory of authors' names with links to brief descriptive notes.
