Pioneer Library System (N.Y.) Selects Equinox and Evergreen

Pioneer Library System has selected Evergreen as their next-generation Integrated Library System (ILS). Pioneer will migrate all of its 42 public libraries to Evergreen with a planned implementation date of late summer, 2010. Equinox Software will provide data migration, software configuration, and post-migration technical support.

EBSCO Publishing to Acquire NetLibrary Division from OCLC

expanded eContent integration~

DUBLIN, Ohio/Ipswich MA, March 17, 2010 — OCLC and EBSCO Publishing (EBSCO) have signed an agreement whereby EBSCO will purchase the assets of the OCLC NetLibrary Division and the rights to license a select number of vendor-owned databases currently available through the OCLC FirstSearch service. The purchase includes the NetLibrary eBook and eAudiobook platform as well as operations and infrastructure in Boulder, Colorado.

On March 10, 2010 appropriations committees in the Florida House and Senate adopted positions eliminating all funding for Florida’s State Aid to Public Libraries program.

JSTOR Current Scholarship Program Reaches 100 Journals

We are very pleased to announce that seven new publishers have recently joined the Current Scholarship Program. While work continues to sign additional publishers and titles to the Program, with these new partners, libraries will be able to license and provide their users with access to the current issues of at least 100 journals on the JSTOR platform beginning in 2011.
