Equinox Welcomes Lisa Carlucci as Executive Director

Duluth, Ga., March 23, 2020: Equinox Open Library Initiative is honored to announce that Lisa Carlucci will be joining Equinox as Executive Director beginning April 6, 2020.

Equinox was founded in 2007 by the original developers and designers of the Evergreen ILS, one of the first open source integrated library systems available. In 2016 it became a non-profit with a mission to advance open source technologies through on-going involvement in the open source community. As part of furthering its non-profit mission, Equinox is pleased to welcome Lisa Carlucci.

Recipients of the First Equinox Open Source Grant Announced

Duluth, Ga., February 6, 2020: Upon the completion of the first application cycle of the Equinox Open Source Grant, Equinox Open Library Initiative is honored to announce the first two grantees: Biblioteca Nacional de Puerto Rico, a division of the Instituto de Cultura Puertorriqueña in San Juan, Puerto Rico and Spark Central in Spokane, Washington.

Missouri Evergreen Consortium partners with Equinox Open Library Initiative

Duluth, Ga., November 22, 2019: Equinox is pleased to announce its collaboration with the Missouri Evergreen Consortium in providing hosting and support for its Evergreen instance.

The Missouri Evergreen Consortium supports 598,254 patrons. The migration included a total of 1,253,332 bibliographic records. Services provided by Equinox included implementation and data services in addition to support, hosting, training and auxiliary services.

Equinox migrates Wayne and Pike County Libraries to the PaILS/SPARK Consortium

Duluth, Ga., October 22, 2019: Equinox is pleased to welcome Wayne and Pike County Libraries to Evergreen with their successful migrations to the Pennsylvania Integrated Library System (PaILS) SPARK Consortium.

Wayne and Pike County Libraries’ move will support 37,059 patrons. The migration included a total of 118,987 bibliographic records. Services provided by Equinox included project management and Evergreen software configuration. Data extraction and bibliographic deduplication were completed as part of their migration encompassing item, patron, and transaction records.

Duluth, Ga., October 14, 2019: Equinox is pleased to announce the successful migration of the Eastern Cluster of Lutheran Seminaries to Koha, the first open source Integrated Library System to be used worldwide.

Their migration involved 318,801 bibliographic records and 2,929 patrons at the university. Equinox provided authority control and data services in addition to Koha support, hosting, and implementation. Remote training for Koha was also provided as part of the migration by Equinox.

Applications Open for Equinox Open Source Grant

Duluth, Ga., August 26, 2019: Equinox is honored to begin accepting applications for the Equinox Open Source Grant. Successful applicants will receive hosting and support for Koha, the first open source Integrated Library System to be used worldwide.

The first cycle of the grant opens August 26, 2019. The deadline for applications is November 1, 2019. Applicants will be notified of the status of their application by December 20, 2019.
